About Larry

As a filmmaker, Larry is a creative thinker who enjoys telling inspiring stories that make an authentic connection with an audience. In fact, he geeks out about it. It's what makes his "work" a dream come true. He really enjoys telling stories about people who are passionate about something.

Recently, Larry made about 30 outdoor adventure videos for REI (visit the Video page to see many of them). This involved finding stories, traveling around the country to film in remote areas (backpacking, paddling, climbing, etc...) and editing the final videos. He also created travel videos in Europe and United States for REI Adventures. Other recent clients include: Microsoft, Ruffwear, and Redfin.

In 2010, Larry completed the highly acclaimed Philmont Documentary Collection, which he produced, directed, shot, edited and self-distributed. He sold a few thousand copies of the documentary on Blu-ray and DVD. Philmont Documentary on Amazon.

Before Larry became interested in documentary filmmaking, he made several narrative shorts and a feature film. These films have won top prizes at film festivals and his feature film has been sold and distributed on Netflix, Amazon, etc...

  • He is in a bluegrass band called The Tobasco Donkeys.
  • He was a high school filmmaking teacher for 6 years. The students won many awards and the a web series they created earned a Telly, Communicator award Webby Honoree.
  • He is an Apple Certified Trainer for Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, and Color.
  • He lives in Colorado.
  • He is very easy to work with.
  • He has never missed a deadline in the 17 years he has been filming.
